Welcome to the Registration Page for our Annual MPak Banquet!
MPak is proud to announce that our annual banquet will be held on February 18 at 7 pm in the Michigan Union Ballroom. We will be raising awareness for underprivileged groups in Pakistan through DOST (Development Organization for Societies in Transition).
DOST is a non-profit organization dedicated towards providing relief for many different marginalized individuals in Pakistan, especially advocating for the rights of women. DOST's three pillars of support are Emergency Relief, Social and Economic Development, and Advocacy and Awareness. DOST has built numerous schools and is looking to build more in their efforts to provide access to education for both boys and girls. If you would like to learn more about DOST's endeavors, please visit: http://www.dostdevelopment.org
Vanessa O'Brien, a British-American mountaineer and American Pakistan Foundation Board Member will be the keynote speaker at the annual Michigan Pakistanis - MPak Banquet at the University of Michigan. O'Brien was the first to set a Guinness World Record for climbing the Seven Summits in 295 days and is also the fastest woman (11 months) to complete the Explorers Grand Slam (Seven Summits plus skiing the last degree to the North and South Poles). She has summited four of the world's 8,000-meter peaks, including Mt. Everest, and in June 2017 she will attempt K2, the second-highest peak in the world, located in Pakistan.
Join MPak to hear about Ms. O'Brien's moving and inspiring journey as well as to enjoy performances from cultural orgs, authentic Pakistani food, dancing, and photobooth fun!
